This was asked a long time ago.  Obviously, there are CUDA patches for
JtR by now:

Currently, no.  So far, yours is the only request for this.  It is
unlikely that anyone will go for the effort unless there's more demand.

On the other hand, more popular hash types are also supported by some
non-JtR password cracker programs, so it could make sense to improve
support for less common hash types in JtR, including by adding CUDA and
OpenCL implementations, as that would arguably be more beneficial to
some users due to lack of overlap with what other tools offer.
