 Before your request,

 I try to install GCC 4.8 latest version.

 I do

gunzip gcc-4.8-20120708.tar.gz

then

sudo tar -xvf gcc-4.8-20120708.tar -C /

 but each times, I get a folder named "gcc-4.8-20120708" in my Hard 
drive root (with applications, library, system, users folders).

 
 How install gcc-4.8-20120708 in the right place ?
