Figured that out, the irc client I used doesn't show channels with less then 5 members by default on list or it had 0 users, in which case the server will not list it at all. Merely creating them is not enough, advertising such support channels is necessary too, and I can't do that nor have any authority to do it. The best place to advertise such support channels would be an announcement on mailing lists + openwall.com post and mention in openwall.com/community/ as well as in the wiki and README's of projects + patience(and they will come). :D Merely creating the channel and waiting for people to join is not going to work, as you i suppose you already knew.
