Subject: Ubuntu MPI cluster tutorial

Hi,

Petur Ingi Egilsson wrote a step-by-step guide entitled "John the Ripper
on a Ubuntu 10.04 MPI Cluster":

http://www.petur.eu/blog/?p=59
http://www.petur.eu/projects/John_the_Ripper_on_a_Ubuntu_10.04_MPI_Cluster.pdf
http://www.petur.eu/projects/John_the_Ripper_on_a_Ubuntu_10.04_MPI_Cluster_ICELANDIC.pdf

I've mirrored the PDFs in:

http://download.openwall.net/pub/projects/john/contrib/mpi/

and added the tutorial to the wiki:

http://openwall.info/wiki/john/tutorials

Most other blog posts, etc. talking about JtR and MPI would only give
single-machine (multi-core) examples. This one is multi-machine.

Unfortunately, it uses the somewhat dated bindshell.net MPI-patched JtR
tree. I've already suggested updating the tutorial to the FullMPI patch.

Maybe some of you will find this useful.

Alexander
