Alexander,
Cool, thanks. I'm currently making some of the changes you suggested. Good
catch on the Xcode. Also I didn't realize that the 64bit build was faster
for auditing *nix passwords, (though in retrospect that would make sense).

On a slightly different note, I've had a couple of people comment asking
about how to apply a MPI patch to JtR. I hate to say it but I never
seriously used any of the MPI distros. I know, minus geek points, but they
never fit into my personal cracking setup, (I just have three machines,
counting my home computer), so for me there's a lot of other simpler
workarounds. I guess what I'm asking is if anyone has had success applying
one of the MPI patches to John version 1.7.3.4? I know it works on 1.7.3.1,
so it probably is best just to use a 1.7.3.1 base install, but I just wanted
to check.

Thanks,
Matt
