No, you are not responsible for people who are not skilled enough
to use the tools, and too lazy to check the man pages.
(I did notice I was doing something wrong, so I could have RTFM.)

Indeed, and it was indeed _my_ fault.
But once I checked the NT patch more closely, it was rather obvios
what caused the problem.
With the jumbo patch version, I just inserted some printf calls
in valid() and wondered why they didn't get processed.
